The Pussycat Dolls PCD review

The Pussycat Dolls/ PCD

'Don't Cha' is one of the few fresh, upbeat, creative top 40 hits of this summer. And it seems like The Pussycat Dolls continue their good job with their debut album PCD, proving they're no one-hit-wonders. For sure, these girls are real eye candies, but when it comes to singing, they can pull it off quite well. If you're stuck to 'Don't Cha', there's more of that vibe and style in this cd. Some of the tracks seem to be written in a rush, but that's not a big matter. The beats are saucy, and the collaborators are all big names: Busta Rhymes, Will.I.Am (from The Black Eyed Peas), and Timbaland. However, not the whole album is Don't Cha-like. There's a techno dance track called 'Hot Stuff (I Want You Back)', there's this poppy ballad 'Stickwitu', and the last 3 tracks are sung with their original burlesque style. And those 3 tracks are the ones where the girls get the chance to show off their vocal abilities most. The lyrics are all about girl empowerment and stuff, but hey who cares about the lyrics? After all, it's all fun, delightful music they're giving. This album should be a nice guilty pleasure, you can find yourself pushing the repeat button over and over again. This cd will definitely get a high place in the charts.

Rating: 3/5 stars
Trackworthy: The only track I don't recommend is Bite The Dust. That's…it!
