Picks Of The Week #15

Lyrics Of The Week

The lyrics of this song is one of my all-time favorites and I can’t help listening to it at late nights whenever things get sour. It just touched me emotionally in so many way. This one is a classic, people.

Fallen
Sarah McLachlan

Heaven bent to take my hand
And lead me through the fire
Be the long awaited answer
To a long and painful fight

Truth be told I've tried my best
But somewhere along the way
I got caught up in all there was to offer
And the cost was so much more than I could bear

Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

We all begin with good intent
Love was raw and young
We believed that we could change ourselves
The past could be undone
But we carry on our backs the burden
Time always reveals
The lonely light of morning
The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything
That I have held so dear.

I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

Heaven bent to take my hand
Nowhere left to turn
I'm lost to those I thought were friends
To everyone I know
Oh they turned their heads embarassed
Pretend that they don't see
But it's one missed step
You'll slip before you know it
And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed

Though I've tried, I've fallen...
I have sunk so low
I have messed up
Better I should know
So don't come round here
And tell me I told you so...

Belle And Sebastian/ Another Sunny Day

This is by far the catchiest track in the Scottish indie band’s great new album ‘The Life Pursuit’. It’s like a little lullaby with sunny sing-along tunes and soothing harmonies. It’s at its best when you’re in the mood for a walk in the park, on a sunny day, of course. This I strongly recommended checking out.

Flashback

Feist/ One Evening

If you need a song to fill your soul after the sun goes down and dinner’s ready to go, then this song is perfect for chilling out times. The Canadian songbird, with her classy, jazzy voice, will definitely warm up your heart with delicate tunes and gorgeous musical arrangements.

Music Video Of The Week

Yeah Yeah Yeahs/ Gold Lions

Yeah, yeah, yeah, they’re back with a kickass single, and the video for it is freaky, too. You got explosives everywhere, a wheel of fire, and Karen O’s scary dance moves! Good freaky stuff!

Contest Of The Week
