Picks Of The Week #16

Lyrics Of The Week

This song was orginally sung by Ron Sexsmith, but I prefer the beautiful cover version of Feist. This is just of one of those songs with lyrics I found personally connected with. Check it out.

Secret Heart

Secret heart
What are you made of
What are you so afraid of
Could it be
Three simple words
Or the fear of being overheard
What's wrong

Let em' in on your secret heart

Secret heart
Why so mysterious
Why so sacred
Why so serious
Maybe you're
Just acting tough
Maybe you're just not man enough
What's wrong?

Let em' in on your secret heart

This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
You're dying to reveal
Go tell her how you feel

Secret heart come out and share it
This loneliness, few can bear it
Could it have something to do with
Admitting that you just can't go through it alone

Let em' in on your very secret heart

This very secret
That you're trying to conceal
Is the very same one
That you're dying to reveal
Go tell him how you feel
This very secret heart
Go out and share it
This very secret heart

The Fray/ Over My Head (Cable Car)

This song is slowly, but safely rising up on the charts. A catchy, though not original adult contemporary power-pop song with fun-to-sing-along hooks. You'll need more than one listen to let it grow on you.

Kim Richey/ A Place Called Home

I recently heard this again after watching a rerun of season 5 Angel episode 'Shells' (in which Illyria was introduced). The song is appropriate for a midnight listen, because it's just so stripped-down and sad with melancholy vocals and simple acoustic guitar. Nice country stuff.

Music Video Of The Week

Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean/ Hips Don't Lie

Directed by the one and only Sophie Muller, this video is another attempt of Shakira to flood our eyes with her very sexy dance moves, and in the end, the Latin songstress was right. Her hips don't lie, at all.
