Brilliant Covers Alert! Two Kylie Acoustic Covers!

You know her, Kylie Minogue, the Australian pint-sized dancing queen who sang all these over-the-top, glossy music and recently won the battle over breast cancer, right? What would happen if you got her songs stripped down to just acoustic guitar and undistorted vocals? The result is: these two beautiful covers.

The first is an acoustic cover of 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' (Kylie's biggest hit to date) by French pop singer Helena Nanoguerra. She turns the bombastic floorfiller to a chill-out, breezy, laidback summer song. It would totally fit in a chillout compilation. Everything here is kept as simple as possible, just her sweet, cutesy voice and an acoustic guitar. It shouldn't work, but does, and we pop lovers are thankful for that.

The second is the much-talked-about cover of 'Hand On Your Heart' (Kylie's very first campy hit) by no one else but Swedish indie-darling folkster José Gonzaléz. Again, another cover that wasn't supposed to click but somehow working like a charm. He adds a touch of melancholy to the originally bouncy song, and it's just so beautiful and listenable. Interesting, to say at least.
