Saturday Is For Soundtrack: 50 First Dates

Time for confession: I love this movie. It's just really good at what it is, which is being a cute, funny romcom date movie. The plot is interesting, the cast is well-casted, there are plenty of those Adam Sandler stupid-hilarious moments as well as the romantic moments. And it dropped this big Drew Barrymore crush on me. Don't forget the quite good soundtrack. The idea of the cd is to gather all these young artists to remake these songs from the '80s. But due to that concept, many great songs used in the movie were left out. Here I give you the 311's cover of The Cure's 'Love Song', which is quite listenable. And then there's the classic summer song from The Beach Boys, 'Wouldn't It Be Nice', which is originally included in their classic album 'Pet Sounds', which just got its 40th anniversary special re-release. Finally, a true tearjerker, The Flaming Lips' 'Do You Realize'. Do yourself a favor and download these awfully good songs now.
