Charlotte Church, one-time classical prodigy, owner of only one proper pop single, Britain's own tabloid fodder, and now host of her own entertainment show on UK's Channel 4.
So the thing is in every episode, Charlotte has a musical guest performing. What she does is join them for a duet on stage, hold the mike looking pre-occupiedly, then wait til the best bits to jump in and screech disconcertingly in order to remind the audience that she also happens to be a professional singer. Like a pain in the ass.
However, there are indeed some good performances from the show and if you can get past the distractions of Charlotte's big voice, you realize all the acts did a quite good job. There are also some interesting covers done on purpose for ratings. Here I've got all 7 live performances from the show so far in order of air dates, and my favorite of the bunch is Amy Winehouse's drunk slurry reinterpretation of Jacko's 'Beat It'. Enjoy, y'all.
