New Pop: Gwen Stefani, Avril Lavigne & Emma Bunton

Second single/ title track, produced by Akon, has been 'leaked'. And everyone's going crazy about it. Based on first listen, it's no 'Wind It Up' (though that annoying song has strangely worked it way into my head), and that's good. I totally agree with XO on the remark that this sounds like 'No Doubt doing True Blue'. Still, I expected more than this. And this didn't do justice enough for me. It's fun to hear Akon's girlish yee-hoos though.

New song penned by Avril for the soundtrack of 'Eragon'. It's a quite good ballad-sounding song that's a little bit more mature and adult contemporary. But of course it's to fit in the context of the movie, and she has stated that this song is nothing to stand by for her next album. Nice to have her back, though.

Emma should fire her website designer. One should know that high-quality mp3s should never be attached in a flash file for we can easily extract and download it. Anyway, this title track from her upcoming, so sudden third album is a cover. And I'm not sure yet about how I feel about it. The songs previewed on her site are not all that good, either. The singles off 'Free Me' were really good, but this, I don't know. Just lukewarm.
