You know what, I think it won't be exaggerative to say that Amy Winehouse can sing the phone book and still make it sound soulful. When you put aside all that eating-disordered, drunken ho persona aside (and her horseface), you realize how excellent she is at singing songs that sound like they were written in the '50s.
And when stripped down to just an acoustic guitar as company, it just becomes clearer how powerful that voice can be. Her gin-soaked voice just kinda pours down into your ears and wraps you around.
Here I give you a gorgeous cover of The Teddy Bears' 'To Know Him Is To Love Him', a Live Lounge cover of The Zutons' 'Valerie' and an acoustic version of 'Love Is A Losing Game', which is the bonus track for 'Back To Black'. Experience it yourself. She's a real gem.
